Proliferation of dog fouling in the village
The Parish Council sadly have had recent reports of a proliferation of dog fouling around the village and a complete lack of respect and responsibility being taken by some dog owners in not placing this in a bin or bagging this up and taking home with them.
The Parish Council would like to urge dog owners to show respect in their local environment and any local parishioners witnessing any offenders are urged to report this to Derbyshire Dales District Council https://www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/environment-and-waste/roads/street-care-and-cleaning/dog-fouling who have respective enforcement powers.
In addition, the Parish Council will give wider publicity to this via the LINK magazine and via the Local Neighbourhood Watch Scheme and aim to lobby DDDC for an additional general waste bin or a larger one being placed out on Sough Lane outside the Cricket field. The Parish Council have also resolved to look into the possibility of using a form of soluble spray paint that can be sprayed around an offending deposit, to highlight this to pedestrians and to the offenders concerned that this matter is and will continue to be monitored.
